- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- Mash the ripe bananas in a large mixing bowl until you get a smooth consistency with a few lumps.
- Mix in the melted butter until well combined.
- Stir in granulated sugar, then beat in the eggs one at a time. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the banana mixture until just combined.
- If using, fold in nuts gently.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and level it.
