  • 0.5 cup Beef Broth Vegetable broth is a great substitute.
  • 0.25 cup Milk, optional Omit for a lighter dish or use plant-based milk.

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil and sauté the ground beef for 5-7 minutes until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  4. Transfer the beef mixture to the greased baking dish and layer the thinly sliced potatoes on top. Sprinkle with salt, pepper, Italian seasoning, and paprika.
  5. Top the casserole with shredded cheddar and grated Parmesan cheese, then carefully pour beef broth around the edges.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15-20 minutes until the cheese is golden and the potatoes are tender.
  8. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
