Step-by-Step Instructions for French Dip Sliders
  1. Sauté the onions: Melt 2 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the sliced medium onion and sauté for 12–15 minutes until tender and golden brown.
  2. Season the onions: Add fresh thyme, kosher salt, and black pepper to the onions. Stir well and remove from heat.
  3. Preheat the oven: Set oven to 350°F (175°C) for even baking.
  4. Prepare the rolls: Cut sweet rolls in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves in a baking dish.
  5. Layer the ingredients: Add half of the provolone cheese, then sliced deli roast beef, caramelized onions, and top with remaining provolone cheese.
