For the Casserole
  • 2 cups Marinara Sauce Can swap for Alfredo or pesto
  • 1 cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese Low-fat options available
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley Optional garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, Italian breadcrumbs, Parmesan, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add oil, and brown the meatballs for about 5-7 minutes.
  5. In a greased casserole dish, spread a layer of marinara sauce and arrange the meatballs on top.
  6. Pour remaining marinara sauce over the meatballs, ensuring they are coated.
  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and additional Parmesan cheese over the entire dish.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden, and the meatballs reach an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
