Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine 1 cup of water with 1 cup of sugar. Heat over medium-high heat until it comes to a gentle boil, stirring frequently until the sugar fully dissolves. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool for 5-10 minutes.
  2. In a large pitcher, pour in 4 cups of cold water along with the cooled simple syrup and freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir thoroughly to blend flavors and adjust sweetness to taste.
  3. Slice fresh strawberries and gently crush them. Add strawberries and sliced lemons to the pitcher.
  4. Cover the pitcher and refrigerate for at least 1 hour and up to 4 hours.
  5. Serve over ice, garnishing glasses with extra lemon slices and strawberries.
