Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering, about 1-2 minutes.
  2. Add sliced onion and green bell pepper to the hot oil. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until tender and slightly caramelized.
  3. Push the sautéed vegetables to the side of the skillet, add 1 pound of ground beef. Cook for 5-7 minutes until fully browned.
  4. Stir in 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. Cook for 2 more minutes.
  5. Lower heat to medium, layer slices of provolone cheese over the beef mixture. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes until melted.
  6. Slice 4 hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting through. Toast the rolls in a separate skillet for about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Carefully fill each hoagie roll with the beef and vegetable mixture. Use a spatula to ensure they are packed.
