Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C), ensuring the oven rack is placed in the upper third.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the lean ground beef and chopped onion for about 7–8 minutes.
  3. Stir in minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning and let it cook for an additional minute.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and mix in sour cream, condensed cream of mushroom soup, drained corn, and ½ cup of shredded cheddar cheese.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13 inch casserole dish, smoothing it into an even layer.
  6. Sprinkle remaining shredded cheddar cheese over the meat mixture and arrange the frozen tater tots on top.
  7. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the tater tots are golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped scallions if desired, then serve hot.
