- Prepare your ingredients by dicing the onion and mincing the garlic, and breaking lasagna noodles into smaller pieces.
- Combine ingredients in the crockpot: ground beef, diced onions, minced garlic, crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, beef broth, Italian seasoning, red pepper flakes, and broken lasagna noodles. Stir until well combined.
- Set the cooking temperature to low heat for 4-6 hours or high heat for 3 hours.
- About 10 minutes before serving, stir in the ricotta, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheeses. If using fresh spinach, fold it in now.
- Taste and adjust seasonings with salt and pepper. Serve hot, garnished with extra cheese or balsamic pickled onions.
