Step-by-Step Instructions for Festive 4th of July Cakesicles
  1. Begin by crumbling your leftover cake into a large mixing bowl, ensuring there are no large chunks. Gradually add in the vanilla frosting and mix thoroughly until you achieve a dough-like consistency.
  2. Take your cakesicle molds and scoop the cake mixture into each cavity, using your fingers to press it down firmly. Insert popsicle sticks and place in the freezer for approximately 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare the coating by microwaving white candy melts in 30-second intervals until smooth.
  4. Once hardened, carefully remove the cakesicles from the molds and dip into the melted candy coating, tapping off excess, then place on parchment to set.
  5. Combine powdered sugar and water to create a drizzling icing. Divide into bowls and color with red and blue food coloring.
  6. Drizzle the colored icing over the cooled cakesicles and allow them to cool completely before serving.
