Main Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8-inch square baking pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

  4. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until well incorporated.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture and milk, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the pan, then spread the jam over it.
  7. Dollop the remaining batter over the jam layer.
  8. Mix topping ingredients together, sprinkle over the batter.
