  • 28 oz Can Whole Tomatoes fresh chopped (about 2 cups) works too
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese or mozzarella for a twist

Step-by-Step Instructions for Cabbage Casserole
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil, add cabbage wedges and cook for about 10 minutes. Drain well and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add chopped onion and green bell pepper with sugar. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until tender. Stir in drained tomatoes, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a greased baking dish, arrange drained cabbage wedges. Pour the sautéed vegetable mixture over the cabbage, then sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
