- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add pasta and cook until al dente, about 8-10 minutes. Add broccoli for the last 2 minutes.
- Before draining, reserve ½ cup of pasta water. Drain pasta and broccoli.
- In the same pot, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Lower heat and add Boursin cheese, stirring until melted and smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually whisk in heavy cream and simmer for 2-3 minutes. Adjust with reserved pasta water for desired consistency, seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Combine drained pasta and broccoli with the sauce, tossing gently for 1-2 minutes. Mix in Parmesan cheese if desired.
- Serve in bowls, garnished with fresh herbs and lemon zest.
