  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil Brushed on baguette slices
For the Topping
  • 8 ounces Brie Cheese Rind removed and sliced
  • 2 medium Ripe Pears Thinly sliced, Bartlett or Anjou varieties work best
  • 1/4 cup Honey For drizzling; maple syrup is a great alternative
For Extra Crunch
  • 1/2 cup Walnuts Chopped finely; can substitute with pecans
For Garnishing
  • 1 sprig Fresh Rosemary/Thyme Optional for aromatic finish
  • to taste Salt and Pepper For seasoning

Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice your baguette into 1/2-inch thick rounds and arrange on a baking sheet. Brush lightly with olive oil.
  3. Toast the baguette slices in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until golden and crispy.
  4. Lay a slice of brie cheese on each toasted baguette.
  5. Layer a few pieces of thinly sliced pears on top of the brie cheese.
  6. Drizzle honey over each crostini.
  7. Sprinkle with salt and pepper, and add fresh herbs if desired.
  8. Serve warm on a platter.
