Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Add bowtie pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, about 8-10 minutes.
- Drain pasta in a colander and let it cool completely.
- While the pasta cools, wash and halve the cherry tomatoes. Gather mozzarella pearls and optional fresh basil.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooled pasta, halved tomatoes, and fresh mozzarella. Pour in fresh pesto and gently toss to coat.
- Season with salt and pepper. If using basil, chop and add as a garnish.
- Serve immediately at room temperature or chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving.
